I have noticed something very strange with Windows XP: When you lock out the current user and let a small child wail on the keyboard, bad things happen.
First, the next time you wake up your computer it will take a long time for the password prompt to appear - like a minute rather than instantly. The password prompt will contain a blinking cursor, but it will not have focus - you have to click it with the mouse.
And then there will be all sorts of focus issues with Explorer. Taskbar icons will always be flashing the "something has changed" message, and you will have to click an icon in the taskbar several times to make a program surface.
A reboot solves it - haven't tried simply logging the user off and back on.
You know, this a serious downside of child labor laws - nothing gets childproofed anymore!
